are pleased to announce that The Rebellious Slave (Houghton Mifflin,
2004) has received honorable mention in the 2005 Gustavus Myers Award competion.
Issued annually by the Gustavus Myers Center for the Study of Bigotry and
Human Rights, this award honors works "which
extend our understanding of the root causes of bigotry and the range of options
we as humans have in constructing
alternative ways to share power."
